In 1973, I opened Mann Music Studios in an effort to provide quality instruction for students of all ages interested in the art of music. My intent is to share, nurture, and enlighten in a method understanding of the needs of each individual. I look forward to hearing from you.

About Me

I am a teacher, pianist, and composer. I have earned a Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance, a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the College - Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati. My teaching experience has been at the college, secondary, and elementary music levels. My teachers have been members of the LaSalle Quartet, Jeno Takacs, Daniel Ericourt, and Hans Heidemann.

At present I maintain a private teaching studio in Raleigh, North Carolina where I teach piano, music theory, composition, and the use of midi - electronic media in video-music production and composition. I have been awarded the North Carolina Governor’s Award for my work with learning disabled children. The Wake County Commissioners recognized me for my volunteer work in the public schools of Wake County. I have served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lucy Daniels’ Foundation, and I am currently on the Board of the Belgium Chamber Orchestra.

My independent studies have been in the areas of electronic music production at the Berklee School of Music in Boston. I have attended workshops and seminars dealing with learning disability and hyperactive - attention deficit disorders. My travels have led me to attend music festivals in Italy, Germany, Austria, and France. My studies have also included seminars at the Erickson Institute in Stockbridge, Mass.

In addition to teaching, I have lectured on the creative individual and his art form at Duke University, Emory University, and Wake Forest University. My presentations have been before the American Psychoanalytic Society at their annual convention in New York City and the Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Association. I have also made presentations at the Mint Museum in Charlotte, N.C. and the Asheville Museum of Art in Asheville, N.C. My music and presentations have also been broadcast on National Public Radio.
